"I would like to thank you for being such a caring, professional. You are the best doctor I've ever seen."
"I appreciated your casual demeanor and calm eye contact. You are so pleasant and confident and I have great respect for you."
From a fellow physician patient, "I really love your careful and caring approach to patients. You are a great physician. It did not escape my notice that you identified and questioned seemingly trivial changes in my labs and learned of my diagnosis - most docs nowadays would have glossed over such minor abnormalities and would have missed it."
"You are more than a doctor. You are also my friend. You have really sat and listened to me. You have such a good and kind heart. I appreciate your advice, smile and good humor. I have always felt very comfortable with you."
"I love your kind directness, your sense of humor and whimsy, and all of your thoughtful medical advice. As well as your listening. And mental health advice. And my husband also appreciates and likes so much about you. And the newsletter. And your perspective. "
Menerva was the Roman goddess of wisdom, medicine, health, and art. A mosaic of Menerva (also spelled Menrva or Minerva) is featured on the second floor of the Library of Congress. Notice the Menerva
noctua owl at her side.
